Montessori room

Does anyone have a Montessori style bedroom or playroom for LO? If so what are some things that you have set up? I need ideas.

  • We don't, but I've been considering making changes to it, I've been looking at some blogs for inspiration. This is one of my favorites: https://www.howwemontessori.com/how-we-montessori/otiss-montessori-room/

Thank you for sharing!  I am now obsessed with this blog.  I was home today waiting for a repair man, and I just Montessoried my living room (sort of).  I took out 90% of the toys, leaving mostly wooden toys.  My next goal is to put together some art trays like hers.  I was trying to find a way to organize DS's art stuff, and I love all her ideas.

  • We're working on one of these for C.  She's 17 months and I'm just pregnant with number 2, so we'll be moving C out of the nursery.  I'm basically doing the mattress on the floor, a small table and chairs, low shelves for her toys/books, and then I'll do areas.  The sleeping area, the toy area, a reading nook, and some crafty stuff (toys and paper) on her table.  Any artwork will be toddler friendly and hung at her level.  I'm putting some mirrors (not framed, connected directly to the wall) also at her level.  I've basically been googling montessori rooms, montessori toddler rooms, etc and getting ideas.  It helps that my older sister taught montessori for years, so she has great insight as far as how to make it developmentally appropriate.
