I voted middle, because that's in my car...and he's mostly in my car. BUT dh takes him to daycare in the morning in his car and that one is behind the passenger b/c DH is tall and his car is small so middle doesn't work.

I never thought to check the car's manual about where to install. I just assumed the latches worked in center because I got a tight install. I'm fairly certain our car seat has not been installed correctly in one of our cars for almost the entire year. We were using the belt in our other car but just changed over to latches when we got the convertible. I can't believe we did that!!!! So disturbing. Going out to change my car now, will deal with H's tonight. So glad you posted this!
Behind passenger seat for us, DH drives most of the time and he is too tall (6'4") to have it behind his seat. We have a Ford Fusion, not a lot of space for a rear facing seat
