So, last wednesday my husband and i went on a 4 day cruise and left my daughter with my parents. She was going to sleep on her own, happily, taking 2 naps and a very happy content baby.
We go to pick her up on Sunday. My parents said she slept great, even though she was teething and caught a cold. They said she went down happy (no rocking to sleep per my request), 2 great naps a day at 10 and 2 (a whole 90 minutes later for her first nap than i normally do) and down from 7 to 7. Well, that first nap at home-cried for 10 minutes, then slept for 3 hours. First night-cried for 15 minutes (with 5 then 10 minute check ups) and slept all night. all day monday, cried at naps (took short naps too, even though i put her down at 10 and she seemed EXHAUSTED prior to that. like exhausted by 830) and for a short period when put down.
Today, i put her down for her first nap at 9 (again, showing sleepy signs at 830 but i figured i'd put her down close to when "they" had been putting her down), and she cried again for a few minutes then was up within 30 minutes.
They SWEAR they didn't rock her to sleep and SWEAR she took 60-90 minute naps. But this behavior is new and strange-especially since she cut her two teeth while there so she shouldn't even be teething, and her congestion is clearing up and she seems a lot less sick so I'm assuming she isn't getting worse. I'm OK with going with the flow but this is frustrating that I leave a happy, content baby and I come back to a baby who seems incredibly sleep deprived and refuses to put herself to sleep.
The only things I can think of are
-possibly separation anxiety? I was gone for awhile, came back, and now she doesn't want to see me leave again? I've noticed since we've been back she's been keeping close tabs on me, and if she's in any where not happy (sleepy, hungry, bored, etc) she cries even if dad is holding her.
-more teeth? i need to look at the bottom ones and see if those are coming in but she's never ever been this upset over teething before (this would be her 5th and 6th teeth coming in)
-they are lying to me and rocked her to sleep and she tok incredibly short naps because they missed the window of time and i need to go back to 830 for a nap time
-working on some new skills? she crawls fine, lately has been trying to crawl up things and pull herself up
Sorry, really just needing to vent. I know they change and I'm fairly good at going with the flow-but it's just incredibly frustrating to come back to a baby who seems so less happy than the baby I left. I know the vacation was very early to leave her that young but it was a present from my family.......idk

Little Riley-our first little girl coming March 1st, 2013 (or sometime around there;)
