Success after IF

First day at daycare went well!

LO seemed to love it and the staff all raved on about how good-natured he was.  He really liked the other kids!  He even learned a new word: Yes.

The only thing I have found is that I am going to have to do some better planning at getting out the door in the morning.  I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get all of my stuff together and him and his stuff.

Re: First day at daycare went well!

  • Glad it went well! I also pack everything the night before, I've always had to do that to stay organized. I've also got the added bonus of DH leaving about the same time we do so if H decides to wake at a different time, DH can help me with him so we're not late.

  • I am so happy to hear it went well! You will get used to the morning routine soon and it won't be so chaotic :) I also prepare everything the night before.

We love our daycare too and G has learned so much there. People always say "oh daycare" in a really sad way when they ask who takes care of Grayson, and I always respond with how much I love it, how great his teachers are, how much he has learned and how good it is for him. I wish people would realize that daycare is not a horrible place. Sorry, I went off on a rant there :) It wasn't directed at you, just so happy your LO enjoyed it!!

  • So far, my feeling is, "Why the heck didn't I do this sooner?"

I just hope DS stays well. Really, that all along has been my only pause for concern with daycare was him getting sick...because we don't have any great back up care (only real back up care is in-laws and parents which both live OOT) and neither of us have jobs that we can just easily take off on short notice.

  • So happy that his first day went well!!

I agree about getting everything ready for the night before.  I literally just have to take everything out of the fridge and put it in his packed diaper bag.  All of my stuff is ready the night before, too.  Also, DH is a huge help in the morning.  We get up at the same time (I switched my hours to do this) and since he takes 2.5 seconds to get ready, he really take over with DS.

  • I'm so glad it went well!  I have to agree with @mdiblasi10.  I was devastated at the thought of putting E in dc because I didn't know any better.  But honestly, it's a great place, and E loves it, and she has learned so much.  She just really loves all the social interaction.  She gets bored at home.

And like everyone else, we pack up the night before.  In the morning, MH puts the bottles in the diaper bag and loads everything in the car for me while I'm nursing E.  Then we just get in the car and go.  It helps a lot.
