I think it's adorable watching my husband, whose in his late 30s and a FTD, navigate fatherhood. I came home from my doctors appt the other day and LO had her pants on backward! The big elephant, that goes on the butt, was in front! We just say, "oh dad!". He also thinks her wicker waste paper basket is her hamper, as he keeps putting her dirty clothes in it. He a"calls all of her clothes "onesies" because he has no idea what a onesie really is. I love it and it makes me love him more because he is doing such a good job!
Any SO funnies to share?
Re: Husband Funnies
DH still tucks the front of the diapers down like we had to when her umbilical stump was there. I told him he didn't have to fold them down anymore so now he just puts the front of the diaper super low and the back is half up her back. (I make sure he changes all those...he'll learn from a front leak eventually)
Edit: word in that actually makes sense
DH always tells me to calm down when I'm upset at something baby related. He's mister cool, calm, and collected.
A few weeks ago he was changing LO's diaper and DS decided it was a good time to shart and pee on daddy as daddy was doing the diaper swap. I could tell DH was so frustrated and I couldn't help laughing because he's always mr. Cool.
He looked up at me as I'm giggling and gave me a look. But by the time he was done cleaning up the giant mess he was laughing right along with me. Oh dad...
He was rushing to make a bottle, but couldn't find the colored ring that screws the nipple onto the bottle. He decided to force the nipple around the rim of the bottle and proceed with the feeding. Obviously that led to a lot of milk leaking out. I didn't know this happened until he walked past me and he and the baby had soaked shirts. Silly FTD move!
BFP 3/29/2014 2u2 Let's do this!
I couldn't help but laugh.
He is adorable with her though.
I love watching husby be a dad. It's amazing and I get some great laughs out of it. My hubby keeps calling her paci/binky- her boppy. He has no idea what the difference is.
Whenever he talks to LO he repeats dada and daddy because he wants her to say daddy first. I figured he deserves that since he usually gets her when she's crying or about to. I asked him when he thinks she's gonna start saying it. He said in a couple months? LOL
As he's changing her he opens her diaper or doesn't have one ready. With all the poop/ pee she's shot out you'd think he'd learn to have one ready. Nope!

Well damn now I feel stupid. I commented to dh just yesterday that the diaper genie was a liar bc there was NO WAY it was holding 200+ diapers before we had to empty it. #-o
Wonder where he might have picked that up from...
Every day, H was like "he still has so much hair"... It eventually and to light he thought it would all fall out at one time overnight and he went to the crib every morning expecting to see a pile of hair and a bald baby.
I spit milk out of my nose.
