two week international trip with a two month old

Do I have rocks in my head?

H has to travel for work at the end of November, and he mentioned the possibility of LO & I tagging along. 

H & I travel really well together, and living out of a back pack for two weeks was nothing when it was just the two of us.  I'm seriously considering saying yes to his offer, despite the fact that I haven't fully thought through the logistics and what-ifs of this.  

We'd be passing through London, Dubai, New Dehli, Bangalore, and Bombay.. maybe stopping by Dhaka on the home as well. 

Please, someone, be my voice of reason.  Or encourage me to go balls to the walls.  What would *you* do?

    This, basically. I totally think you should go as long as it's ok with regard to healthcare for LO, immunizations, etc. The travel itself won't be that bad at all, actually. In some ways LO will be a great age for that, assuming your BFing is going well and whatnot.

    Can a baby take malaria medicine? If not, I'd skip any place where malaria is around.

    I would do London but I'd question the rest due to what pp have said about immunizations, etc (esp in places as crowded as Bombay). Also, if you are bfing you have to consider that. I'm not sure what its like in other countries as far as where it's accepted, unless you'll never travel far from your hotel room. (Especially in Arab counties).

    Pending immunizations, I would do it. When we backpacked through Asia we met several young couples with toddlers and/or small infants. I would make sure you have a baby wearing option that works for you, that's what we saw most moms doing. I have the ktan and am able to nurse very discreetly while wearing it. Could be a good option for plane rides and the like. My personal opinion is that babies are very portable. And if it's a trip for your DHs work, chances are you'll be in nice hotels and high end places rather than the back woods backpacking.

    As far as packing goes, most of those locations will have diapers, wipes and such available. You could call ahead to the hotels and find out what's on site at their mini mart type stores and what would be available at a local grocery store. GL!

    I wouldn't go, but I'd be worried about lack of immunizations and germs and such.  Ask your pedi.

    I would do it no problem, but I'm concerned about LO being able to get the necessary vaccinations for some of those places. I'd talk to your pedi about it.

    I agree that my concern would be getting the appropriate vaccinations for those areas. Also if there are any vaccinations you need that aren't compatible with BFing, if you are.

    I would do pending immunizations and such, but I'd be really concerned about the exhaustion factor with travel, time changes, and the fussiness of infants. I'm not sure if I would be able to enjoy it!
