Entering week 2 of no planning... DH is traveling this week, and our nanny will likely feed the kids before I can get home, so probably a week of leftovers/cheese and crackers/quick salads for me. But I love reading what everyone is making! Gives me ideas!
Just FYI - I downloaded the Five Plates meal planning app and I'm not impressed. I would not recommend it . I had high hopes but no. It auto picks 5 recipes but if you don't like one you can't search for another. You can't add your own, and you can't make changes permanently to the recipe or even notes.

That's exactly why I've been hesitant to use any sort of meal planning website/app. I want freedom to be able to pick and choose recipes. I've had the most luck creating a database of our family recipes and choosing from those. I'll try new things (usually found on Pinterest) to try and bulk up our database.

I was thinking about doing that in excel and maybe using some code to do a random number generator to pick different ones for me. I have a lot but get in a rut with the same things. At least that way I could link it to websites/pins ect and maybe some kind of notes section... hmmm
1. Veggie ravioli (fresh store bought), spinach and tomato salad,
2. Shrimp and kielbasa saffron rice,
3. Turkey soft tacos (browned with frontera sauce pack, served with tomato and avocado), beans and corn,
4. Sausage and apple stuffed butternut squash, and 5.
Out of town for wedding food
Mon - Tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches (my stepson LOVES this dinner) Tues - Spaghetti Wed - Sloppy Joes Thurs - Something with noodles and ground beef Fri - Meat loaf (one I made and froze a couple of weeks ago) Sat - Roasted chicken (and I'll make homemade chicken noodle soup from the carcass and left over meat for Sunday)

Or maybe I need to plan a month at a time.
@EMO-mamma I made a (much less crafty) version of this menu board https://sarahpotterphotography.com/diy-menu-board. It has been working out pretty well for us. DH also likes to be able to look at it to know what we are having throughout the week.
