Hi all,
I am traveling today and posting this from my phone so it won't be in the usual format. So let's talk about traveling; what have your traveling experiences been while on an MSPI diet? Any tips or advice for the newbies? Questions related to traveling?
And of course, how's everyone doing?
Re: *~*~MSPI Moms Weekly Check In*~*~
I've traveled a few times since having my MSPI baby (she's 5 months now). I make sure to keep Lara Bars and Justins Peanut Butter packets with me at all times. I try and pack something special to snack on as well. We have a local popcorn store that makes a variety of popcorns. I asked the owner and the kettle corn and candied popcorns are dairy and soy free, yum!! I also try to look ahead of time to find a chick fil a close since they're nuggets and fries are safe.
I just came back from a weekend church function and substituted a few of my safe items for theirs. I brought my own homemade rolls for hamburgers, chicken for fajitas, and pancakes for breakfast. I didn't feel left out or bummed about the diet since I was able to have practically the same dishes everyone else was enjoying.
We are ok. DS broke his leg yesterday.
There's no test for MSPI, the only real way to know is to eliminate those foods from your diet and see if your LO improves. It can take several weeks to get the proteins cleared out of both your symptoms.
Since your diet is already somewhat restricted, you might think about seeing a nutritionist. Beans, lentils, nuts, and some grains can be good sources of protein too. Even some veggies have a fair amount of protein. GL!
