Today will be 2 months since we have said good-bye to Elizabeth. It hasn't been an easy 2 months but today we got the results from her autopsy. It was placental insufficiency. I will be meeting with my OBGYN this Friday for more info. I feel much comfortable talking to her face to face than over the phone. There was no physical abnormalities, baby was perfect but the placenta gave out before she was born. I feel a bit better now that I have closure in regards to autopsy report. Has anyone had placental insufficiency?
I wasn't given the term placental insufficiency, but in our situation, my placenta wasn't growing and wouldn't get nutrients to Parker. It was about 1/3-1/2 of the size it was supposed to be. We had the same autopsy results. There was nothing wrong with her and my blood work came back totally normal. I didn't think we would get any answers either, but there is a sense of closure knowing what happened. I know it doesn't take the pain away, but I'm so glad you got some closure.
I had something similar. My placenta was insufficient. It had clots, wasn't formed properly and had abrupted and infracted. They told me it was possible related to a blood clotting disorder and/or a protein deficiency. I have a bunch of blood work coming after my cycles return. My OB also told me it could of just been crap luck too.
Sorry for the spelling mistakes, Google doesn't seem to like some words.
