pregnant and doc said i caint have sex

im currently 7weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby i have a 3 month old i wasnt expecting this one but is still a blessing well anyways my doc said i can only have sex once a month until 5 months and after 5 months no sex reason being i went for my first check up at 6 weeks and he said i have a soft cervix my first baby is a preemie and he said that he dont want me to have another premature birth or a miscarriage i feel alone on this has anybody else had the same experience or similar to it does the cervix gets better ??????????

    If you have cervical issues having sex is a no no. I haven't been intimate with DH my whole pregnancy. That also includes four play. You don't want anything inside you that may irritate your cervix causing it to shorten which can lead to ptl or miscarriage.

    Exactly what kneenah said.  I didn't know that I was having issues with this pregnancy until around 24 weeks but was specifically told no sex, no orgasms.  There's no telling if your cervix will 'get better' but I'm sure they will monitor you closely and let you know if pelvic rest is a restriction that can be lifted.  How early was your first child born?

    I'm expecting twins and have been on pelvic rest since 20 weeks. My MFM said that sperm and orgasms can cause pre term labor so its a no no. I would say that since you got pregnant so fast after delivery, that an already soft cervix can turn into a bigger issue.

    My MFM said to me "if your husband spends a little extra time in the shower, let him be." :)

    I also could not have sex until after 20 weeks and now we are now being monitored for early delivery so we are not doing anything that can risk me going into labor early. :(

    Thanks he havent told me anything about orgasm but i sure will ask to be safe my baby was born 9 weeks early

    Pelvic rest is not intercourse of any kind..

    i have been on pelvic rest this entire pregnancy and will probably not get off of it. fun times :) pelvic rest is pretty normal with cervical problems

    Married 11/27/09 and TTC right away
    Dx: Complete septate uterus with cervical duplication, endometrial polyps, PCOS, endometriosis, hypo thyroid, luteal phase defect
    4 uterus surgeries to correct my complete septum and to remove polyps and 2 years of seeing the RE, medicated cycles and IUIs
    Baby 1 and 2: BFP 3/3/11 with 2 babies EDD 11/1/11, M/C 4/6/11
    Baby #3: 8/11 pregnant EDD 4/27/11 and m/c:(
    Baby #4: 10/12/11 BFP! EDD 6/16/12m/c 10/26/11
    Baby #5: 3/13/12 BFP! EDD 11/25/12 ANOTHER m/c :(

    Baby #6: 2/14/13- BFP! EDD 10/24/13, CP 2/19/13
    Baby #7: 3/15/13- BFP! EDD 11/27/13, another CP
    Baby #8.  BFP 5/19/13 EDD 1/22/14. 8 was not our lucky number

    4th septum resection on 5/31/13.
    Baby #9: 6/29/13 BFP. C section scheduled for March 5th!

    My miracle baby was born March 5 at 9:33am. He was 8 lbs 12.5 oz and 21.25 inches long!
