B had shots, but no more than usual. I think the total was 4 and that included her flu shot. She also doesn't get the pertussis vaccine because I heard it causes autism. Kidding. You guys wanted to punch me in the throat for a hot second there right? She doesn't get it because she had pertussis so bad when she was a month old.
She mentioned that usually between 12 and 15 months she suggests starting bottle weaning. 16-20 oz milk a day now. She does great w solids so that wasn't an issue. Her eyes will most likely stay blue. Still confused by this.
Rear facing until at least 2.
We already had the blood work done. They made us get it before the 1 yr appt.
No bloodwork, no car seat questions. 4 shots, including flu. She did a physical exam, weight/height. Asked about if she had weaned yet (she weaned herself a week before her birthday) and said 24oz of WCM/day. A cup of yogurt counts as 8oz of milk.
After 7 years of no ovulation... BFP#1 10/24/11 ~ EDD 6/29/12 ~ Natural m/c 11/2/11 BFP#2 2/3/12 ~ Alice born 9/26/12
We just had ours today. My poor baby got about 5 shots. Her 1 year shots and the flu vaccine. The doc Looked her over to make sure she was healthy, Talked to us about switching to whole milk, her learning to walk, eating and sleeping habits, and the questions I had. She had a bump on her face from her face from when she fell trying to climb I and I was afraid he was going to think I was an abusive parent lol.
The appointment went well 2 shots and then another 2 in 1 month (second part of flu and hep) we did a finger prick for iron and more finger blood to test for lead. Dr told us to wean off formula and that everything looked good.
I feared that the 1 year appt was going to be a lot worse.
DS is weighing it at 25.5 pounds and 30 3/4 inches tall
We had our one year today. Four shots for us. No blood tests. They did a flouride treatment for his teeth. I brought up my concerns with Elijah and milk the doctor recommended trying lactaid, soy milk, or almond milk instead of WCM. He is 21 lbs 1 oz and 30 3/4 inches tall.
We're doing a joint 3 year and 1 year check since the kiddos' birthdays are so close.
Ds2 will have 3 shots, including flu vac. Height, weight, etc routine check. We'll get the lab order for blood work.
I EP so pediatrician isn't concerned about when we decide to switch to WCM. I'm weaning from the pump and will use up my freezer stash over the next couple of months or so and start to transition before I run out.
Ds2 has been using sippy cups since 7ish months and our personal preference is to rear-face until age 2. He's also already been to the dentist.
Our pediatrician(s), husband and wife, are parents themselves. They completely understand that they are the medical professionals and that we are the parents and know our children best.
Height/weight. Discussed her diet, got the green light for up to but no more than 20oz of WCM daily. Everything else looks great. We will go back for 4 shots next week (including first flu) and then 3 more in a month. No bloodwork.
