That strep b test hurt!! It wasn't so bad when he swabbed the vagina but when swabbed the rectum it hurt to no end!!

Doc checked my cervix and I am dilated 1 cm. he said my cervix was thinned 60-70%. That doesn't happen to mean labor is right around the corner does it?? 37 weeks and ready for LO to be here.

Nope. At 36 weeks I was 3 cm 75% and still have baby in. And am now 38 weeks 3 days. So...... bubble burst sorry.

I'm feeling very grateful for my doctor. You know, the guy who doesn't violate my anus when checking for GBS. I think this bodes well for my delivery, too.

When my dr did it last PG, I barely felt a thing. This time, with a different dr doing it, I felt it more.. not really painful but it wasn't comfortable. I guess it depends on the dr.

I don't understand why it is hurting? It's a qtip and they swab outside.....it never even went into the vagina. What are your doctors doing to some of you? Are you at least getting a drink out of this?

Lol @ HFrizzle! My doctor swabbed the inside of the opening .. I wouldn't say painful but the vaginal part was uncomfortable (i think its the idea that made it uncomfortable) but I didn't really feel the anus swab.
A for your dialation unfortunately that Doesent mean labor is coming soon... Bummer we know.

I have no clue why the butt hurt so bad. It felt like a needle or something... I don't know if there are different ways to perform the test or what but I couldn't believe that it hurt so much.

I'm due 10/30 so I'm one of the last mommies to be to get things done.

I think I should have gotten a drink after that lol!!!

At my hospital they gave me the swab and very clear instructions and I took the sample myself then sealed the swab in a case and gave it to the nurse. Great way to do it if you ask me!

The vag swab doesn't hurt. The butt swab doesn't hurt. Cervical check didn't hurt. I HAVE GENITALS OF STEEL.

My doctor had me swab myself, told me to swab the inside of my vag maybe, or not even half an inch up then to swipe the back end ... So why on earth are people saying this hurts ? The swab shouldn't violate you and if the swab hurt your vagina how on earth have you survived paps and other vaginal checks ... I feel bad for those of you who say it hurts with a 6lb baby or more coming out soon. Does it hurt to wipe after you use the bathroom too ?
