Baby Showers

Looking for a unique baby shower venue in Chicago's west suburbs!

My MIL is throwing me a baby shower, but she's having trouble finding a venue so I figure I can at least point her in the right direction. I know she's looking for something reasonable on the wallet, but not anything boring. It seems she's not a fan of the bare bones park district facilities, and I know those seem to be the cheapest options out there. Anyway...I'll entertain any ideas you have! As long as it's not outrageously expensive. It would be nice to find something out of the ordinary and not so traditional...if that exists. We're open to location as long as it's somewhere between Oak Park and Wheaton, no further north than Schaumburg and no further south than La Grange. Help!!!

  • Oh! I should also mention the baby shower will be sometime in mid-January!

  • Pilot Pete's at Schaumburg airport? Or Ricardo's in Schaumburg? Ricardo's credits $100 to rent part of the restaurant to the food bill-effective being $0 facility charge.

  • D.O.C. Wine Bar in Lombard is amazing. I threw my friend's shower at the one in the city and it was really reasonable. The food is fantastic, and your guests can even enjoy some good vino. Other ideas- Carlucci in Downers Grove has some reasonable packages and good food, and both Giordanos and Lou Malnati's have multiple locations with party spaces if you're a fan of deep fish. You can post this on the Chicago board, but it's pretty dead. GL!

  • Oh, and Meson Sabika in Naperville is one of the coolest venues I've seen, but that gets a *little* pricey...

I just went to a shower at Biaggi's and it was really nice! There is one in Naperville. My mom had mine at Lou Malnatti's and it was perfect. Everyone loves pizza :).

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm still kinda new on here and learning how to use the message boards. I have no idea how to get to the Chicago board! Help?

  • I'm going to one this weekend at Lou Malnatis in Buffalo Grove. This location is obviously too far for you, but I'm happy to get to go there for a shower yum!
