Multiples

sleeping arrangements

Do your multiples share a room?  My 1yr old boys do, and we are thinking about moving one into the guest room so they don't wake eachother up at night...which leads into my next question:  did anyone sleep train their multiples?  We did CIO with my now 3yr old daughter and it worked well, but have been unable to get both boys to sleep through the night in their own cribs.. They go to sleep fine (with just a bit of crying), but consistently wake up (EVERY NIGHT) and will only go back to sleep either in our bed or if we are holding them.  HELP!

Re: sleeping arrangements

  • They do share a room... always have.  We did CIO at 8 months to put them to sleep at night (I had been rocking them).  They cried some the first night, once overnight, some the 2nd night going to sleep, and from then on, no crying.  They even sleep through each other crying or yelling out now, which only happens occasionally.  I would do CIO if you're comfortable with it instead of having them in your bed or holding them.  They'll get used to sleeping through each other after a couple nights.
