Rent the Runway?

Has anyone used Rent the Runway?  Good/Bad experiences?  We are going to a wedding in two weekends and I need a dress.  I have always liked the idea of using them but have never had the guts.  I do have a backup dress I can wear if one of these doesn't work.  Either way, which one do you like?
This is my inspiration board:

Re: Rent the Runway?

  • If you can't tell I want something with a little give in the belleh area.  I am sure the not drinking will give me away but I might as well try and disguise the bloat.

  • Love Rent the Runway, and you can order a backup dress from them--either a different size or a different dress in case they don't have the one you originally want! I think dress C is most like the one on your inspiration board, but B is my fav. Good luck!

I love D because it has pockets. :)

    I'm a sucker for bows. :)

This. I ordered from them for my friend's wedding, and then forgot that I had ordered them, and bought a dress anyway. When the dresses came, I loved them both, and if I remember, they send 2 sizes, right?

  • C or D, I like the idea of pockets if you are taking the kiddo with.

  • I have always heard great things about Rent the Runway, I just haven't had a need to use it yet.

B is my favorite. I am a sucker for pockets but D looks really short.

I am more worried about the style just not looking right on me because I am not 5'10" and 100lbs like the models in the adorable dresses. :)

@jessk86 and @BPer Was the communication about shipping good and accurate?  And did you have to sign for it?  The wedding is on a Saturday about 3 hours away so I would need it on Friday and if I missed them I would be SOL. =((
Am I completely over thinking this?
Yes? Welcome to the innards of my mind.

  • Yep, no problem with shipping. I needed the dresses for a rehearsal/wedding so I had them arrive Thursday. Popped them back in the mail on Monday, and was good to go. Also, B is my fav. I'm a sucker for bows.

Yes, the communication is awesome! You can chat with a 'stylist' if you want and explain what you're looking for, what you want to hide, etc, and they can give suggestions and such. I don't think I had to sign for any of mine, but I'm sure the option is there if you want it. And, try can ship to your hotel if you'll be out of town a few days ahead of time. I'd have them deliver Thursday if possible!

  • Posting from mobile so please excuse any misspellings :)

@AlinnJo it's like Netflix for expensive dresses. :) Your night begins with the perfect dress 1. FIND IT: Search our collection of dresses and accessories for your rental date (we recommend 1–2 days before your event), then filter by designer, price, length — even style — to narrow down your favorites. 2. BOOK IT: Once you've selected your items, book for a 4-day or 8-day rental period. We also offer all the essential extras like Spanx and Fashion Tape. 3. WEAR IT: Your order will arrive by 8PM on your delivery date via UPS (or by courier in NYC). Time to slip it on and shine! 4: RETURN IT: After your night out, send back your items in the easy pre-paid envelope provided — we'll take care of the dry cleaning. Don't forget to upload a photo and review to Our Runway.

  • Another vote for B!  Let me know your experience with Rent the Runway, I'm looking into it for a benefit auction in November.

  • If you are short maybe this is not an issue, but A, B and D (especially D) look waaaay to short for a wedding.  I am not short though, so I look at things like this, those dresses would be way inappropriate on me.  I love C, not just the length, I think it is the cutest and looks like it would be the most flattering.  If D was like 6 inches longer I would like that one too.

  • I think the shortness of the dresses could be counter acted, though, by some black or dark colored tights (if you're into that sort of thing)

I'm 5"1" so all the dresses would hit me lower than the model. :)

    I like C the best.

    A: I'm not a fan.
B: The neckline doesn't look flattering and the saggy bow is just sad.
D: I love pockets, but the dress itself looks really short. That, along with the the v-neck - I won't go for it personally.

C: It's classic and elegant, but still sexy to me. It also looks the most like your inspiration.
I worry that the V on D will be to much boob.

This is why I alway chicken out of RRTR, I need to try things on. :-S
