LO turned 2 in may. Always a good eater but lately meals are a nightmare. Eats 2 bites and then says she's done. Crying during lunch but eating through tears. We do 2 snacks spread out during the day. is this a phase? anyone else having issues?
A lot is the age. We have great eating days and terrible eating days. Are her 2-year molars in? I could see that being a reason for crying while eating but if they're in then it's probably just a phase.
Yes, probably a phase and very common. Our pedi office always says the same thing, "Your job as the parent is to put healthy food in front of your child. Your child's job is to decide how much to eat, or if to eat at all." It's helped me in the past to fix a plate of a small variety of healthy foods, and once I put that plate down think, 'my job is done'. Maybe just look at it like that, because next month you probably won't be able to put food down fast enough!
