M loves the straw cup. I love bottle time. Maybe keep bottle at night? Def not cold turkey

we're slowly trying to get him to drink milk from the sippy or straw. he's a weirdo in the sense that if I put milk or formula in the sippy or straw cup he gives the ucky face and won't drink it. he only wants water in the cups and milk/formula in the bottle. and its vice versa, he wont drink water out of a bottle. we are giving him 2 ounces of milk with formula this week and we'll slowly increase the percentage so that at 12 months its just sippys with milk and real food.

is there a good sippy with a straw that isn't so baby proof? She does great with straws but the nuby ones is really hard for her. What about the pop up straws? Maybe if i find one she is great with we wont do bottles. Except, she still wakes at night, i may do bottles just to keep her laying and not sitting up.

We started the transition at pediatrician suggestion at 11 months. We did one ounce of WM mixed with his formula for two days. After two days we moved to 2 ounces and so on. So far we are up to 3 ounces.

Only issue we are having now is that he has these red dots that are popping out. Look like a mix between hives and bug bites. Pedi doesn't think it's milk as V has been eating yogurt and cheese for some time now. She's inclined to believe it's a reaction to amoxicillin he was just on for yet another ear infection. We stopped that last Monday and started him on zithomyacin but he is still getting them. Pedi said it could be whatever virus he is battling trying to work it's way out. He's not itchy or complaining. Breathing is fine. Going to take him for allergy screen after his first birthday. Ugh!

At around 12 months I'll start the transition to sippy cup. I've tried formula in it before and he wasn't thrilled so I anticipate this being hard!

A loves straw cups! sippy a are ok.. But the bottle is easy since he usually goes down for a nap with one... Not so sure how switching over is going to go for us,

yep the playtex trainer straw cup is awesome. its not 100% leak proof as it will spill whats in the straw but its great for learning. it allows you to squeeze the cup to help them know something comes out

We will probably start a blend at 12 months. She does really well with the sippy now, so I think we can cut bottles out all together. I am waiting to ask the pedi at her 1 year check up.

I have already begun to ditch the bottle. She is really good with her sippy, especially the new one. As for milk, I plan to slowly introduce it around 11 1/2 months.

I think I will probably wait until after the 12 month appointment and getting the green light from the Pedi. We didn't talk about it at all at the 9 month.
