Intro & Stroller ??

Hello! I've been posting on April 14 but though I should introduce myself here. I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions in the next few months! I'm a mom of a 17 month old and expecting twins in early April. It looks like there's a lot of options for double strollers but almost none for triple strollers! My daughter will turn 2 just after the twins are here and is a great walker but I'm nervous about not having a seat for her. Was anyone else in this boat and what do you think the best option would be? I'd like to hear different options before I decide. TIA and sorry if this is a post and run but I'm a little tired after my online stroller hunt lol.

Re: Intro & Stroller ??

  • I wouldn't buy a triple stroller personally. You'll NEVER get your money back out if it. Well maybe but it'll be much harder.

I would get a double and let her walk.
Use a double and let someone else push a single for long walk trips that you're with someone.
Or, let the 2yo and a baby sit in the stroller while you wear the other baby in a carrier.

  • I'm looking at the valco twin EX stroller that has an optional joey seat for a third (older baby/toddler). If I take all three babies out alone I plan to carry one until they are old enough for the joey seat.

You could also consider a double stroller with a buggy board attachment (I think that's what they're called!)

  • I'm doing the Valco twin trimode w Joey seat. DD2 will be 19 months old when twins arrive.
  • I am considering the joovy too with the jump seat. I like the fact that you can fit two car seats into it. I will most likely be by myself and will need to contain an 18 month old too. It didn't seem too pricey.
  • You could do a Baby Jogger City Select with a glider board.

  • Thanks ladies for the suggestions!  I'll be looking into those as well.

  • Sorry, I was confused. It's the valco trimode twin we're looking at!

  • My daughter was 2.5 when my boys were born and we've done well with a double stroller that she can either sit in or walk, and I wear a baby.
  • We have the Valco and love it. We use it for our trio and our older walks or we have a ride on board for him.

This is us (well, not technically me, but same set up)! We have this and love it! And when the 2 yo needs to sit, I'll put a baby in my ergo, have a regular stroller seat up front for him and car seat up top. Then sometimes my 4yo will jump on the glider board.
I call it our own parade.

  • Similar to the picture posted above, I have the Baby Jogger City Select and the Englacha Junior X-Rider attachment for my two year old.  It is working out great for us!  I made a big deal about him getting a "special stroller seat" and got him all excited about it, and so far he's been great about riding in it (and yay, I can strap his ass in and get my shopping done without chasing a toddler all over the store!
