Update - STILL in limbo!

Well, after a second bright red bleeding spell that lasted for all of 2 seconds last Friday, I was feeling pretty pessimistic. But I still feel absurdly pregnant. Anyway, my betas from Friday came in:

Wednesday at 22dpo (supposedly 5w1 day but gest sac measuring 5w5d): hcg was 17,064.
Friday: hcg was 22,087

So it went up, but the doubling rate was 120 hours (compared to the Monday-Wednesday doubling rate of 95 hours). I know that everywhere on google says over 6,000, the doubling rate is "96 hours or more" - but to go from 95 hours to 120 hours in just a couple days is quite a slowdown. I'm not feeling too happy about these numbers at all. My OB is also not feeling optimistic - she emailed me to say the numbers are not increasing like they should and that we would "discuss options after we see what the ultrasound on Friday shows us." I really don't like the phrase "discuss options."

On the other hand, google also brought me this quote: "above 6,000 mIU/ml, the hCG often takes over four or more days to double. It makes little sense to follow the hCG values above 6,000 mIU/ml as at this point the increase is normally slower and not related to how well the pregnancy is doing." 

So maybe there's hope? Anyway, just gotta make it through 4 more days - ultrasound is Friday morning and I should know for sure one way or the other by then.

    I seriously hate that you are still in limbo and that the betas didn't really help. I mean, you've done the research already on how quickly they increase after a certain point so I'm not sure they can really paint the whole picture for you. I'm anxiously awaiting your appt on Friday and sending you my T&P's in the meantime. ((HUGS)) friend.

    Ugh, I was hoping for super positive news, but overall, this still seems positive to me.  I'm going to go with the "there is a large range of normal," in this case, and so perhaps things are still fine, just progressing in their own way.  Hoping for really good news on Friday!!

    Ugh, I'm so sorry you're still stuck in limbo- I hope this week flies and Friday is here before you know it! I think that there's such a large range of normal betas at this point that it's just too hard to use them to really judge what's going to happen. Fingers and toes crossed for a reassuring ultrasound Friday finally!

    Honestly, I think Friday would be better.. if everything is OK in there, you'd be further along and would see more. A few days can make a LOT of difference in seeing baby and heartbeat when so early.. you know?

    The wait is the hardest part. I am keeping my fingers crossed that on Friday, everything will be just fine. Those numbers sound great to me, so hopefully the ultrasound goes well!

    Lots of testing, all clear with the exception of compound heterozygous for the MTHFR mutation. 

    Cycle 1: Femara, trigger shot, Bravelle added due to slow response = BFN
    Cycle 2: Cancelled due to two cysts =(
    Cycle 3: Femara, Bravelle, trigger shot and IUI = BFP then loss #3
    Cycle 4: Femara, Follistim, trigger shot and IUI = BFP!  EDD: 6/7/14
