Double stroller question

My DD will be 4 in January and my DS will be here the first week of November. I was thinking of getting the baby jogger city mini gt double stroller. Is it worth a double with DD almost 4? I was thinking it would be good when we go out with both and DD has a place to sit too. Thought? The weight limit is 100 lbs which is good.

I suggest looking into a Sit n Stand. I have the Baby Trend one.

I have the BJCM Double, and we LOVE it!! While I got it when my second was born (DS1 - 19m and DS2 - NB). We are getting more use out of it than you will, but it's still a great stroller.

I think I'd keep the single stroller and use a carrier with kids that age.

I really, really dislike sit n stands.

DS just turned 4 and this LO is due in about a month. I have been debating too, but I feel like we never use the stroller anymore. I'm waiting to see how it goes, I'm thinking if I need it I'll probably put DS in the stroller and wear baby. If I do find I need a double I plan to get one on Craigslist.

Hello I'm just lurking around and decided to post if it's not a issue.....but my ds will be 4 a few weeks after my dd will be born an I decided to purchase the britax b agile double it also with holds 100lbs....my advice would be to go to the store and research what's best for you....when I tried the contour tandem stroller it was heavy bulky and had little weight capacity and also with the stand and ride with the car seat and child it leaves no leg room for other child to sit when tired and was very tight the same with the tandem and once it hits a certain weight limit it makes it harder to streer..... My ds is still small he's not yet 30lbs and he walks slow and does not keep up and with a newborn it's just to much so we will still get our money's worth with this stroller it's a better fit for us and plus you can always purchase and attach the ride along board as well......

We have the Baby Jogger City Select and I love it because you have the option of single or double. That way you could take the 2nd seat off when your older child no longer has interest in a stroller.

Does your son use a stroller now? My son will be four November 23rd, and hasn't used a stroller since he was 2.5 years old. I really don't see him using one again. I think he'll be much more into helping me with his brother, wanting to help push the stroller, etc.

DD will be 4 in January and will ride in a stroller still as sometimes she gets tired. But we don't use one too often.

Yes my son still use his stroller sometimes we use the buggys at the mall....but for the most part he still rides without a problem....

We got the contours tandem stroller but I think the weight limit is 40 lbs. Our 1st is only 22 months old so it should last us but for your 4 year old you should get something that has a higher weight limit so it will last you longer.

My son will be five & isn't a little guy, my daughter is 14 months and we use our Baby Jogger Double Summit everyday on walks, it's nice to restrain them and focus on walking, sometimes he rides his bike... and then I wished we'd brought the double instead lol between the two of them they weigh 95lbs Baby #3 will be here in December and the double will continue to get a ton of use!

@washingtonqueen that's the stroller I've been looking at getting, but can only find it online. do you have any issues with it fitting in your car/trunk? i have a compact car and am wondering how flat it folds. wish i could see it in person first..

It folds up very well for a double stroller but it is very long. I have a trunk like this and it just fits.

I don't know why it just occurred to me to look at the dimensions online and compare them to the baby trend stroller I have now.... Sigh. Seems like it should fit. Thanks!

@chinablack55 they're about 30 min from where I live but haven't had any in stock the few times that I've gone to look.

Before you purchase try to go look at them one more time push them around the store with the car seat and baby in the stroller....fold the stroller down and try to lift it to see if it's something you would want that's how I narrowed down the choices...
