Has anyone had a natural birth at Newton-Wellesley? I'm rather curious how anyone's experience was here. I'm thinking about natural birth but I'm a first time mom so was thinking a hospital would be best. Thanks for any input!
I had my second child at newton wellesley and that was natural birth.
It means I did not need to be induced or given any pail reliever like epidural. It is not I did not need epidural but by the time i felt the need the mid-wife said i was really close to pushing , so too late.
It was painful but it was rather quick i think becoz i took epidural during my first born and I had no feeling to push, i did not know which angle to be in or anything but it was less painful but longer. Epidural had made my lower body numb so could not feel where the baby was going.
I would suggest to keep the option of epidural at all times but trust the nurse or mid-wife there. whenever you feel lot of pain ask for epidural specialaly if you had been exhausted of being in labor all day which i was in my first born, i needed rest.
Good luck!! Hope you and the baby are healthy. Take care.
I planned on a natural birth on NW, but things didn't turn out my way (hey, sometimes plans don't pan out, so you've got to roll with the punches . My OB was really supporting of my decision and the nurses were wonderful. SO - I think if you've made up your mind and have talked to your OB about this and he/she is on board, it should be all good. I felt like I had a lot of support.
I tried for natural at newton wellesley but ultimately went for an epidural and it was the best decision for me and allowed me to rest and really enjoy the birth. The nurses supported me through natural and rubbed my back while in birthing ball/ encouraged me to walk around and acted quickly when I needed relief with epidural. Best if luck!!
