LO used to...until yesterday have this very sweet little baby cry. He is a little congested right now with a cold but his cry has changed to more of a scream mixed with crying. Is this just part of development? I think he may be "testing" his voice.
My LO had an ear piercing scream in the beginning. It's not as bad anymore unless he is really pissed off, mostly when the bottle doesn't come fast enough. He's used to me just wiping out a boob. He is not a patient boy.
Newborns are born with their voice boxes high in their tracheas to help prevent aspiration. Between 2 and 3 months, the voice box drops and changes the sound of the cry. I was just noticing the other day that Finn no longer has the little baby cry anymore. He's pretty laid back usually, but if he's pissy, he has no problem screaming to let us know.
Right there with you. Her cries are definitely different. If she gets pissed, overtired or is in pain she can really burst your ear drums with her scream.
