So sad and scared.

My b/g twins are 12 weeks old and happy healthy babies. Today however will be and already is a hard and sad day. Today we say good buy to my mother who has been here helping my husband and I through the end of my pregnancy up till now. She has been here a total of 4.5 months. Now we must say good buy as she is leaving to go home in Canada and we stay behind in texas. I am very sad and scared to take care of these babies on our own. She has been such an amazing help to have I can't imagine what it will be like when she walks out the door.

  • What an amazing mother you have to spend so much time helping you. You will do great mama!

  • You will be just fine. My mom only stayed about a week when my boys were in the nicu but then came back when they got home for a little bit. I remember feeling the same way but I think for me it was more the feeling of missing her and having her to take care of ME if I needed it that I was missing the most. There's something special about having a mama around, at any age. It will be a transition but you will do great on your own. Just one day at a time. Good luck!

  • You will do great!! Hugs!
  • You'll do fine!  I was scared too when my help left right before a long holiday weekend where my husband had to work.  I survived!  I did okay.  Yes, it was harder without the extra hands, but you'll build your confidence as you do more and more on your own.

Good luck, and just take it a day at a time.

  • I freaked out my first week alone when the boys were 3 weeks old. You will be amazed at yourself! and things will feel overwhelming at times... but you'll start to develop routines and other tricks!

  • My mother left 2 weeks ago and I'm only getting over it now. Adjusting to having no one looking after you is hard but just focus on your little ones. You can do it!!
  • You'll do great. I was so scared and sad when my mom left. The idea that she had held my boys every day of their lives and wouldn't any more broke my heart. But it was all ok, and we managed fine. Lots of hugs!
