We're not having a party by any means but we are having our immediate family over to share the gender with them in a fun way. We are in the process of remodeling our backyard so we plan to have everyone over under the impression that we are just enjoying the new backyard. After dinner I'm planning to invite everyone to take a look at what we've done with the nursery so far only when we open the door the room will be filled with either blue or pink balloons. Then we'll have blue or pink celebratory cupcakes.
Yes, but only for immediate family. We are doing dinner on a week night and letting my grandmother who is 89 open a box full of balloons revealing the gender. My co-workers are filling the box for me so no one in the family will know.
I voted no - because we wouldn't do a party, but I will probably do something special to tell my parents since it's their first grandchild. Nothing much - just send them something appropriately themed.
I voted yes but we are having a reveal cake at DD's birthday next weekend. A friend will take pics but no games or anything. Just killing two birds with one stone.
No because we are having two showers thrown for us. Seems like we'd be overdoing it to expect people to come to a reveal party too. But we are planning to take a cute reveal photo even though we already let everyone know it was a girl. I just want the photo to have for memories.
I thought about it but we decided not to. We are finding out the end of the month and one weekend we have a Halloween party and the next DH will be 30. I just can't see trying to plan another party for that week.
I voted yes, but it is just the two of us. Our 1st anniversary is next Sunday and we have decided to get the top of our wedding cake remade (since we didnt save it) and the inside will be either pink or blue. I can't wait!
We aren't doing a party, but my siblings and I will all be going back to my hometown for a wedding the weekend after we find out. We're going to get silly string and let my nieces have at it and announce to my parents and siblings that way. Fun , but in no way a party.
Still undecided. My Parents live in PR and we are in ND, so they never get to be a part of any of the baby stuff. I decided for sure to do something special for them. A week after we find out we w are all flying to Belguim (MH, DD, my parents and me). We meet my parents in the layover in ATL before the last leg of the flight so I'm thinking of doing something there, but not sure what yet.
Other than that we may have our closest friends over and cutting a cake or something, but I'm not 100% sure about that yet.
Our reveal party will be in the delivery room. We will text/call family first. Not sure when we will FB announce since we will know genders way before names (I tend to be indecisive on that part).
I think after family knows sex (after birth) we will post to FB that babies are born/healthy and then make people wait a little before telling sex...because I"m cruel like that. I'd like to wait around 24 hours just to make sure everyone is OK (especially if they are early) and to make sure that we get to tell all the important people first.
I'm hosting Canadian Thanksgiving the day of my next ultrasound. If they can tell me the gender I'd like to reveal it to the family that is there that night. But I don't want to plan an extra party. This one alone is stressing me out!

Me too! But we are opting to use our family baby shower as a reveal party (we will find out with them). The family seems to really want to know do we decided to compromise and let them be a part of the moment

I'll be 30 this month as well! My b-say is the 27th. When is your husbands?
We are just going to have a small dinner party with close family and both mine and my husband's best friends. Nothing huge, and just the people who probably really care about knowing anyway. We're doing the cake reveal thing because my husband is obsessed with it LOL
Second baby, so I will not be having a shower or registering or wanting gifts. But I will do a fun evening with cake or something to reveal the gender...just family and a couple of close friends. Just to have some fun with it.
Me and my Kiwi, both 38. We struggled with RPL and were blessed with Micah. I'm a full custody stepmom to Ethan!
I voted no - we're not doing a party or any special event. We're opening a gift with a gendered onesie on Christmas with my family. Our family will all be together anyway, & I have no problem waiting until then so they can all share in the special moment.
I vote yes but it's not really a party. Just my parents and dh parents going out for supper so we can tell both at the same time. I'll buy an outfit and tell them that way. Nothing big.
We are currently at Disney World. Tonight we are going to the Magic Kingdom. The plan is to go to the hat store and tell the cashier we need pink or blue Mickey Ears and give them the envelope. Then take the package to the place where they take photos in front of Cinderella's Castle and open it. We are all excited ( dh and 3 our of 4 kids are here).
Mom to 5 wonderful kids: 18ds, 15ds, 13ds, 11dd and baby boy! Why get old when you can get pregnant?
NO, but only because we had one (with family only) for my DS. I don't love that kind of attention even from family so we'll just do something simple this time. I do think they are such fun parties and I hope my sisters and siblings in-law do them (unless they are team green of course)!!!

That is too freaking cute. I don't like big parties, but dinner with family or finding a way to involve younger siblings is always fun. And I love Disney... post pics after you find out!
Ours is on the same day! But just a reveal, not a shower. This is our first baby so H is letting me go all out. It looks like fun and I can't wait to cook/bake goodies. We haven't had a real get together at our place since we moved and H and I wanted to have one before winter so we could use the huge backyard. My mom doesn't want to find out before LO is born and so it will be a couple family members and close friends. H's parents live in PA so he will text them on Wednesday after the anatomy scan.
No, I just told all of the important people and then posted it on fb.
This is exactly what I'll be doing. I might take a cute "gender reveal" picture for fb but that's it. I think the parties are cute but it's just not for me. I don't want to wait any longer to find out the sex. I like the u/s tech telling us.
Here's an example of a pic I think is cute to post on Facebook:

We're doing the same thing, just a small dinner party with close friends and family skyping in. We're doing the cake thing because we went to another friend's reveal and thought it was so much fun. Plus, I like any excuse to eat cake. I know some people think these parties are silly, but I think they're fun.
We had a reveal party a week and a half ago. All of our close family and friends came over and I made a video that we all watched together which revealed we are having a boy! It was such a special moment for us. Then we sent a link to the video to our family and friends who couldn't make it.
