Elmo..

I was in the backseat today with lo and she was inconsolable, I put Elmo's song/video on my iPhone to see of it would get her attention and omg her face was priceless ..before I get flamed I don't plan on sitting her in front of the tv all day- so don't . I just thought it was adorable , it's like she seen magic. Anyone else's lo's react this way to cartoons yet?

  • Lol I probably shouldn't of started with Elmo
  • Ill have to get some baby Einstein
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • We have the tv on a decent amount for background noise or for Corri, and we discovered that Gavin loves to watch Team umizoomi because it's all colors and movement, lol!
  • My LO likes to look at the computer screen even if it is only words.
  • My LO loves football and we were watching "Under the Sea" from the Little Mermaid and she was mesmerized.

  • My LO loves rugrats (yes I still watch it on netflix) it is the only thing she watches on tv, other than that nothing on it interests her. She will watch the whole show if I let her though. She even giggles.
  • Yep. DS will stare at my computer or tv if they are on. I showed him Elmo and Cookie Monster the other day and he was mesmerized. As much as I can't stand Elmo, he's better than Telletubbies, the Wiggles, Barney, Yo Gabba Gabba, and that stupid Gummy Bear.

Luckily we've managed to keep them away from DD for over two years with the exception of the Gummy Bear and I hope she never learns of them.

I had no idea Rugrats was on Netflix! Super pumped!

  • My LO's can sit and watch football but prefer the baby einstein videos. I once tried to watch criminal minds when I thought DS was asleep and when I saw his eyes open starring at the tv I changed the channel and felt guilty.
  • @chrissiemeas that reminds me, me and dh were talking candidly earlier and I said the same thing " wonder how long we can talk in front of her like this l"

Haha - unfortunately it's not as long as we would've thought or wanted. DD is 2 1/2 now and has been repeating us for quite a while....sometimes when we don't even think she's listening or can hear us.

Are LIttle Einsteins different than what you all are talking about?

Yes. There is a series of Baby Einstein videos which are geared towards babies and young toddlers. Little Einsteins is a television series for older toddlers and pre-schoolers with plot lines and a main cast of characters.

My FFFC this week was about how DS1 set LO down in front of the TV and that he loved it so much, I let him stay there for a few minutes. When I'm sitting him in my lap and the TV is on, he'll turn his head so he can watch it. I let him watch it the other day so that I could get my older kids ready for the day while SO slept in.

We love Elmo in this house and it's a good thing, too. DS3 adores him. It's pretty cute. He has a couple of Elmo stuffies and whenever Sesame Street is on, he walks around with one of them tucked under his arm. He'll give it kisses and talk to it. He'll also set it in the bouncy seat or car seat. Elmo's his baby.
