For any STMs out there when does it stop? I am seriously about to shave off all of my long hair that I have spent years trying to grow out. I swear it is this crazy kiddos favorite pass time. OUCH!
DS does the same thing! I just cut my short (just above the shoulders), but he still manages to get ahold of it. He calms down when he can play with my hair. I notice he will rub his own hair at night when he is soothing himself back to sleep.
Pulling my hair is one thing, but now DS has starting pulling the hair of other babies! It is horrifying! I am hoping that my stern "nos" will start to sink in soon.

LOL! I was just about to post the same thing. The other day, DS was playing with a new friend for the first time and I turned around and he had the other boy's face smashed into the ground with two huge fistfuls of his hair. Like other PPs, DS pulls and plays with his own hair while I rock him to sleep. He grabs mine any other chance he can get! Hoping it'll pass soon!!
DS#2 does it while nursing, I think it is a comfort thing. If he pulls too hard, I grab his hair and pull on it a little, that usually scales him back.
If your LO is very rough, pull you hair into a bun, don't cut it. GL !
