Success after IF

Remind me: Bed rest after transfer

Hey ladies!
I was here a couple of years ago when I went through IVF & had my DS.  Things got crazy when I went back to work, then there was all the drama here and I just petered out as a poster... AND NOW.. I've forgotten my log in, can't access it AT ALL.
I created a new one a bit ago but haven't really been active.
I'm currently prepping for FET - scheduled for next Thurs. 10/10.
Help me remember: Bed rest after transfer - just that day??
My H is set to be out of town, so I'm trying to figure out how many sitters I need to accommodate the needed bed rest/no lifting (he is 2.5yrs old and 31# so while mobile, there's a lot of "Uppa Mommy, UPPA!" involved....)
I swear I should have taken better notes the first time because really, I don't remember ANYTHING!
Thanks!

Re: Remind me: Bed rest after transfer

  • I was on bedrest the day of transfer & the entire day following that. It seems that it varies from RE to RE. FWIW I had two toddlers that didn't believe in all of that :) so really we were back to lifting the day after transfer. GL with your FET!

  • Thanks.  They seriously told me bedrest 10,11 & 12 and that just strikes me as overkill. I honestly don't remember THREE DAYS of bedrest last time...
But I guess I would finally get to catch up on all the great TV I hear non-toddler parents talking about! :)
  • I was told that the no heavy lifting requirements were for fresh IVF cycles bc your ovaries are stimmed. After my FET, I was given no restrictions for lifting which was good because I have a toddler too. I did "couch rest" the day of FET, but was pretty much back to normal the day after.

    Good luck!

  • I didn't do any bedrest and I think if you look up research it shows that bedrest does not increase pregnancy rates.

    Good luck!

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
