If anyone wants to take over, let me know :)

QOTW - I always had big announcement ideas, but so far haven't done anything exciting.  I get really shy and make DH say it.  So far I've sucked at that.  Hopefully you guys have something good!

  • Hi- no update! Just counting down the days to my next OB appt (3 weeks)!

Qotd- well, I told my mom as soon as I got the blood tests back as she kept calling to ask and was so worried about the whole thing! I don't know how I will tell the rest of the family- I am not creative! Most knew we were going through IVF so I feel like its my worst kept secret as I definitely would have shared if I was canceled again or it failed!

@monimu13- I love love your idea!! So cute!

  • Hi ladies! I'm 13 weeks today. I had my first trimester screening this week and everything came back normal. Huuuge relief there. I saw my LO on the NT scan and it was wonderful; we even saw it stretch (just like a teeny tiny baby!). My hunger has amped up big time, I feel like I have to eat every freaking hour. So far I am really enjoying pregnancy and feel so grateful for this baby. :-)

QOTD: So I told my immediate family the good news after 3 positive betas. No real announcement, just a phone call. DH called his parents and brother at 10 weeks, and MIL told the entire extended family. The only "announcement" we made was to our close friends. We were at a brunch at my BF's house, and I said I wanted to do a toast with our mimosas. I said something like, "To good friends and to our baby, coming next April!" After a shocked pause everyone yelled and then all the women started crying (including me). They knew about our IF and that we were planning to do IVF, but no one (except BF and her DH) knew we had already done it and it worked!

I didn't think I'd have an update this week, but I'm actually sitting in labor and delivery right now thanks to bleeding, again. Waiting to be seen for US to see if something is wrong or if all is OK. This happened early on and it was nothing that they could pinpoint so hopefully they'll tell me the same. T&P would be greatly appreciated!

UPDATE- Thanks for the t&p. Sadly they didn't help this time. No heartbeat, baby should be 12 weeks and stopped growing shortly after 9. My last appt was right around 9 weeks and everything looked great, we saw the HB twice before that. D&C is Sunday. I cant believe that this is actually happening. Hope to be back one day, good luck to you all.

  • Updates: My due date got moved up a couple of days, but I'd rather keep it at May 5th because that sounds more fun. I graduated to my OB after my last appointment with my RE on Wednesday. The ultrasound showed only one hematoma left, and baby was moving around like crazy. My doctor gave us a gift bag with little baby socks and a cute book. It was really sweet. I had to hold it together so I didn't cry like a crazy hormonal woman. I am actually starting to feel more relieved and excited and less worried. My first appointment with the OB is on Monday.

QOTW: We told our parents in very bland ways. My mom knew I was doing treatment so I told her right away. We told the ILs pretty bluntly, too. I think for family that lives out of state, I want to send the ultrasound picture and adding a little sombrero sticker to the baby's head with the caption saying something about cinco de mayo. For everyone else, maybe doing something cute with DD to announce. Or maybe my Halloween costume has something to do with it. I'm not sure yet. My brain is not working!!

  • @rox835 - I'm sorry. I had bleeding this week and everything I could find said it was pretty common and likely to not be anything bad at 12 weeks. Everything was fine at the ultrasound. Hope yours is too.

Update: Bye-bye first tri! Wow! Can't believe we've reached this milestone. Still in awe and on cloud 9 (despite the slew of discomforts that I won't mention).

QOTD: We have already told family and close friends, most in person and some on the phone. I don't know that a cute announcement is really my style or necessary as it spreads through word of mouth, but I will probably post a FB picture later this month with me and DH wearing our skeleton shirts.  (Mine has two skeleton babies on the belly)

  • 9 weeks tomorrow just hanging out waiting for my OB appointment on Monday. Sooooo excited since its been 2 weeks that we've seen our beany!!!!

QOTD:  We've had a few announcements already:

1st----My parents live out of state and we went to visit them the day of beta. Since I POAS, I knew it was positive and went out and got 2 pic frames that said "You Sailed into Our Hearts" and had a sailboat on it. Then I put the picture of my positive digi in it. We gave my parents one frame that weekend.....and the following weekend we gave the other frame to my MIL which was her birthday. We won for best gift :)  The rest of our close family just found out by being present at these occasions. 2nd-- We did have a few close friends who didn't know that we'd like to know before Facebook postings....so we put a "Big Sister"shirt on the dog. They all asked if we were getting another puppy, LOL. I was like, "Ummmm....no."

For my Facebook announcement....it just so happens 12 weeks is our anniversary. I made a thinly veiled video claiming to be an anniversary video to the song we first danced to. Then at the end....SURPRISE!!!   :)   I'm counting down days to post it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am 5w2d today and had my 3rd beta on Wednesday which came back at 4,282 so that was definitely a relief! Nausea, bloating and sore boobs have definitely kicked in as well as food aversions. I am still 2 weeks away from my ultrasound, so I'm still feeling really nervous about things, but I guess that comes with the territory.

QOTW: I already told our immediate family because they knew about the IVF and were waiting for results.I haven't really decided how we'll "go public" so to speak, but I guess I still have several weeks to figure it out. :)

  • I can't believe this is my last check in! @rox825 I'm so sorry! I'm praying for you!!

We had our bleeding scare last week but it seems to be slowing down/tapering off. I see the ob on the 9th for my nt scan.

Qotw: for my mom, we wrapped up a small photo album w an u/s pic in it. I didn't think shed see there are 2 babies so I wrapped up 2 I love grandma bibs and put them under the album in a gift bag. When she saw the pic, she sobbed right away. When she got to the bibs, she said...well how long is this kid staying at my house? When I answered that both babies needed one, she screamed and started sobbing again. We did the photo album for dhs parents/siblings/ grandparents since we were all together. Lots of happy screams and tears. To tell my brother & sil, I ironed on big cousin on 2 one sides for their LO due this month.

We just did work yesterday. We brought in boxes of pink &blue sugar cookies w a poem on the inside life that said" we don't yet know if were pink or blue, all we know is were having two!" And then put our last name twins due April 2014. Were telling the extended families today and Facebook tomorrow. For the extended family, were going to a party and bringing pink & blue m&m cookies. For fb, I have no idea yet.

  • Yesterday was such a wonderful day! We had our 2nd US at 8w5d, and baby really looks like a baby now! Little arms/legs starting and a clear head and body. What an incredible gift! HB was 178. Happy little ticker. I almost cried but held it together. We officially graduated from the RE, although now I still have to find a great midwife. the consultation process is taking us sone time, but its a big decision to me to choose a midwife, so I'm not rushing.

Since 2nd US went well and we know there are no chromosomal issues (we did PGS in addition to PGD), we are going to have our first big reveal announcement tonight! Only my sister and our BFs (a couple we are with all the time and who knew about our IVF) know that we are pregnant. That's it! My parents and DHs parents know that we started the IVF process in January, but neither of them know that we did transfer on August 23.

So tonight DHs sister is in town for the last time until Christmas...so we are announcing! We are doing the balloons in a box idea, except the balloons won't reveal gender (team green here) and they say: "I love you grandma!" "I love you Grandpa!" And "Baby" on the latex ones. We are going to wrap a baby brag book inside and put baby's US picture from yesterday inside as the first photo. We can't wait for tonight!

    PAIF/SAIF/Everyone Welcome!

  • At 9 weeks today and everything looks good. Went for u/s last week and was just amazed at e difference two weeks can make. Both babies are growing like crazy and my belly is already noticeable, although with the horrible all-day morning sickness I've lost several pounds. It would be pretty hard to keep it from family at this point, even if we wanted to. QOTW: we were at my hubby's family reunion shortly after we found out we were pregnant, and my hubby's aunt calls out across the room, loudly: Congratulations!!! I froze, shocked, looked at my husband and others, and said, "for what?" She then said, "For the big commercial you did last week!" I relaxed, and said, oh, yeah, thanks. DH then yells out, "She thought you were talking about her positive pregnancy test!" Beans officially spilled.

  • Hi everyone.

I don't have an EDD yet and 1st ultrasound isn't until Oct 24th, very stressful. I did get a positive beta it was 527. I just get worried alot because I get cramps here and there. I just want to make sure everything is ok. My FET was on sept 17 and transferred 2.

We have told some family as we couldn't hold the excitement in. My DH keeps telling me everything's fine but I get so scared everytime I get cramps. Are cramps something I should be worried about?
