I posted a few days ago about my LO only taking 8-10 oz. of milk a day. We are now on day two of her refusing milk. She will not drink it out of a sippy or her bottle. She will, however, drink plain water or watered down juice from her sippy. I don't know what to do. Half of the time, she won't even try what's in the cup. She just pushes it away. We've tried straight formula, straight milk, and a combination of both.
I don't understand how she can go from drinking 24 oz. less than two weeks ago down to nothing. Something has to be going on. I'm wondering if maybe her molars are beginning to come in, because I've read they can be the most difficult to deal with. She's also eating less, so that's also making me think teething. I'm just at a loss and getting very frustrated.
Re: Refusing Milk
Sometimes if I take a pretend drink from his cup first, "See, drink your milk, like this", then hand it to him, he'll accept it and start chugging even if he refused it before. Sometimes I have to do a couple times, but it usually works. Also if he sees me get the milk jug from the fridge and pour it in the cup, then he understands there's milk in there.
Honestly though, I refuse to fight with him about it as long as he's drinking even a small amount. When he really is thirsty he grabs the cup right away, so I know he won't deprive himself. I don't mind coaxing him a little, but I'm not going to battle with him. He eats tons of other dairy products, so I know he's getting the nutrients he needs.
Just keep trying.
