I think this pnp might start labor for me. I got it from a friend and I can't get the one side to go down. Every time I talk to her she says oh, you just have to jiggle it and it goes right down. Um, wrong. It's chicco brand and in really good shape except for this one side.

Anyone else have any problems or know of any tricks to get the dumb thing down?

  • PNPs are a PITA. Mine is Graco, but it looks the same. We wiggle fairly aggressively until it snaps up into place. DH has more of the magic touch, so I usually let him handle it. But yeah, I don't think yours is broken, they are just annoying.

  • Loading the player...
  • Try pulling up the tab on the floor of PNP then put sides down. We have a Graco, but that's how we have to do ours.

I find when a side won't release pulling that side up while pushing the button will release it. Doesn't always work but does more often than not.

  • We have a new graco, and I broke a piece to the newborn mapper. Whoops. Those things are not as easy as they look.I'm

  • Run it over with a car.

But seriously pnp can be a pain. DH usually takes care of ours but like yours one side always seems to stick.

  • I'm leaving it in the middle of the family room while I go get a massage. Fingers crossed DH has it down by the time I get home!

  • I always had to severely karate chop one side on my Graco.....

Or have DH do it, who did it with ease. Ugh.

  • With ours I have found if you make sure the tab in the middle is completely released, and you lift up the opposing side and then release them together it helps... don't know why.... they are just a pain sometimes.

  • I lent mine to dd's baby sitter and just recently got it back... Now I can't collapse the effing thing... I just left it put together in te living room... Dd uses it as a basket ball net

A friend of mine told me the trick was to push the bottom down completely before pulling on the sides. Worked like a charm for us. Seems completely backwards from how I would have thought to do it, though. My issues were with the newborn napper and changing gizmo... I eventually gave up and threw them under the bassinet.
I had a problem with getting the sides to lock.  I knew there was some trick.  Either have to have the bottom down completely, then do the sides.... or the other way around with the sides first.  I think it says on the instructions.
