Sex!

I had a c section 3 weeks ago and I feel much much better. I'm still a little sore at times and I'm just about done bleeding. I know they say to wait the full six weeks but I was just wondering if it was okay to have sex now? Or if anyone else has had sex after a c section after only three weeks? Im barely bleeding and we are just anxious to get back to normal. Sorry if this was tmi!

    Oh my God my uterus hurts just reading this! Lol I just remember sex hurting so bad the first, like, month or so after my cs and that was waiting the 6 weeks! I would wait! They recommend 6 weeks for a reason! :)

    Agreed.  And, nothing will ever be "back to normal."  You've got a kid now.

    just wait until 6 weeks. after your doc checks you out and clears you- then go back to normal. :)

    I would wait the 6 weeks as well.  Also, I didn't realize this, but sex HURTS the first few times even after a c section!!!  My OB said it was low estrogen levels shortly after birth.

    Not worth the risk of infection and make sure you figure out birth control first.

    My OB cleared me after 2.5w this last time.  I do have to admit that I was a surrogate so I didn't have a NB to care for.  He just said not to go crazy as to not reopen the incision.  I would talk to your doc.

    My recommendations from my surgeon was when the bleeding is for sure stopped. I have days now only 1 week post op where I barely bleed. Can't imagine sex now!

    In addition to what has already been said, bleeding can come come and go. So just because your not bleeding today doesnt mean it wont restart next week.
