Back to work monday

Heading back to work on Monday.  Baby has been at the day home for a week and a half, increasing time as we have gone.  It seems like she has now figured out that I will be gone for a while and is protesting when I drop her off.  It is breaking my heart.  I knew when I had her that I would have to go back to work but it has hit me really hard.  I feel so sad, and guilty and like I have no choice in the matter.  I have read about the benefits of going back to work etc but its just really hard.  Gonna be a really rough few weeks.

 Any suggestions from other moms

    It'll get easier, just take it one day at a time.  Can DH drop her off instead of you?  I found it much easier to say goodbye to her when DH was holding her at home, than dropping her off and leaving daycare myself.  It still breaks my heart when she's crying when I leave... But I love work and I know she's socializing and learning stuff there :)

    Hubby and I will be car pooling to work once I return so I have been doing it while we are getting her and I used to the day home idea.  He plans on taking the lead most days once back.  We will see.  I also want her to get the benefits of socialization etc, but really wish that there was a part time option for me.

    I had to go back to work after 8 weeks and my LO still went through this phase at around 8-9 months. Would scream and cry when I dropped her off. She's perfectly fine again now and loves her daycare! It's really harder on you than your LO because they're easily distracted and you spend all day at work worrying if they're okay. It'll get easier for the both of you I promise!

    I'm also returning to work on Monday. I know drop offs will be rough so my husband is doing it. I don't have any suggestions but wish you luck! I just keep telling myself that I'm doing what is in the best interest of our family and I know LO will get so much out of being around others.
