Hello Ladies,
Now that I've read the newbie blog, I should go ahead and introduce myself.
DH and I are 24, and have been married for 2 years. We are currently on month 8 of ttc our first.
I got off BCPs back in February, and I have not ovulated (at all) or had AF (without provera) ever since. I know that I haven't ovulated because I do temp, use opks, and chart.
After many blood tests and a couple ultrasounds my doctor referred me to an obgyn (I have high testosterone and triglycerides). Unfortunately, this doctor disregarded all that, and wanted to put me on clomid without further testing (besides a SA), and monitoring.
Of course this was a huge, red flag so I went to a different obgyn for a second opinion. Upon further review, I have been diagnosed with insulin resistant pcos. I started metformin 2 days ago, and my body is still trying to adjust. Hopefully with diet and exercise we will be able to get everything under control. -If we do have to start clomid in the future my new doctor will be doing all the necessary tests and monitoring
I know there is a lot more that I need to learn.. so if I ever sound ignorant at all please let me know. I am here to continue educating myself, and to be a contributing part of the community.
Oh.. one more thing.

Welcome to board and kudos for standing up for yourself (and your body).
You asked about receipes. When I was diagnosed, both my GP and GYN referred me to a low fat, low carb diet plan (that conviently had recipe books available). Also, general diabetic recipes tends to be friendly to most PCOSers with IR. Keep an eye out for what doesn't agree with you - it seems that everyone on Metformin has one (or two) foods that suddenly will cause GI issues. Imodium will be your friend.
