I'm pregnant

After ONE unprotected encounter I'm KU. We were NOT TTC, DH wasn't even on board with having a third. I wanted another but not this soon. I took a test last night and then we stayed up for several hours talking about everything. We will need a new car (mini van) and possibly/eventually a new house and we'll need to do a lot of work to make space in our current house. I'm not really ready to be pregnant again either. Still have 10 lbs to lose to get to pre-DD weight and another 10 to get to pre-DS weight. Plus I was just enjoying mostly I just feel so sad for DD. She will only be 13 months, still a baby herself, when the next comes. It just feels overwhelming.

I'm not pregnant, but I can totally understand your concerns and feelings of being overwhelmed. I'd feel the same way if I got pregnant with a third now. Wishing you well for a healthy baby and that the initial shock and stress settles soon. As PP says, "Hugs!"

That is a crazy shock. But I'm sure once you adjust to the idea, you will figure out a way to make it manageable. #3 is much easier than #2 from what I hear! Congrats and a happy and healthy 9 months to you!

I wish you a Happy and healthy pregnancy, but no sympathy over here. Accidents only happen when birth control fails. Then again, maybe that's the infertility in me talking....You should feel blessed with this pregnancy, you're creating life - something that is not a given for everyone.

Thanks ladies! I also believe that everything happens for a reason and that ALL babies are blessings, planned or not. I'm expecting to still feel overwhelmed for a while but your kind words are good reminders to focus on all the good in this situation. If the worst case scenario is a baby then that sort of puts things into perspective.

It's really not fair to put your experience on someone and tell them how they *should* feel. Everyone is entitled to her own feelings, especially when it comes to an unplanned pregnancy.

OP, congratulations on your pregnancy. I can imagine how overwhelmed you feel right now. I hope as the shock you and YH are able to feel good about it. My sister and I are 14 months apart and always loved having a sibling so close in age! My mom says because I was so young, I adjusted very quickly and was never really jealous.

Congratulations! This is an exciting but scary time but such a blessing. As Pp stated everything happens at the right time. And DD and new sibling will be the best of friends. My DH has a brother 13 months apart and they are best friends. Best wishes for a happy and healthy pregnancy!!

Ditto this. A reaction like yours is not helpful.

Op: Congrats! The mindset of "every baby is a blessing" really helped me with adjusting to our 3rd surprise. MH was also not on board with the idea of 3, and had a really hard time adjusting. Feel free to pm me if you want to talk about it.

ETA: Oh, and as a PP said, #3 was waaaay easier than #2 for me!

Congrats!! I can't say that I know how it feels but being that H and I were trying for one baby and were handed more than we bargained for, I know how that shock factor feels. And though I have 2 and not 3, I pray for you and your family that the adjustment is easy and fun for you all!! I'm sure the kiddos will LOVE being so close in age and in 20 years from now, you can look back and laugh at how scary the thought of this all was.

My younger sister and I are 18 months apart and we've always been joined at the hip. Congratulations! Just take things one day at a time until the shock wears off...then you'll be able to enjoy the excitement and planning, just like for your April LO

I am in the same boat. I went from testing and getting negative to now being pregnant. My kids will be 14 months apart and I am terrified. If you need anyone to talk too let me know
