Diono RadianRXT

Does anyone have the Diono RadianRXT convertible car seat?  It was recommended to me by a nurse practitioner, the reviews look really solid, but I had never heard of the company before.  Anyone with experience please chime in!

Re: Diono RadianRXT

  • We have it and I love it!! It's Charlie's seat and he's able to comfortably RF in it at 34 lbs and 38" tall. The Radian is a very highly rated seat - its a great mix of extended rear facing capability and price. You can find them for around $200 with various sales and its good for 10 years (RF all the way to backless booster).

This Charlie in his new "big boy car seat." :-) Don't mind the toddler attitude glare. Haha

  • Did you have any trouble fitting it rear facing?  One of the only negative things that came up a couple of times was people not being able to fit it rear facing.  Ive got a forrester, so not cramped or anything, but its no Suburban!

  • They have something called an angle adjuster that helps sit it more upright and fit in smaller cars. You can only use it with kids who have good head control and are sitting well, but by the time you move from an infant seat its usually fine. Ours is in a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan with adjustable captains chairs, so I've got more than enough room for it. I'm not sure about a Forrester, but you should check out the facebook group "Car Seats for the Littles." Someone on there would be able to tell you!

  • It's highly recommended. Especially with the angle adjuster. Assuming your LO has great head control and can adapt to the more upright incline the angle adjuster provides but at nearly 6 months, I can't imagine head control is an issue.
