We transitioned from Similac liquid to Costco powder. Few feedings with minor spit ups, but that could have just been because they started eating way more.
I'd be more worried about the brand switch than about the rtf/powder switch.
Married DH : 7/7/12; 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat) DS born 9/3/13; DD born 7/22/15; LO due 5/28/18 FS (age 5) and FD (age 2) to become AS/AD very soon!
We went from similac liquid to powder and LO was fine. I wouldn't worry about the liquid to powder switch, but my concern would come from switching brands.
We went from enfamil liquid and similac liquid (both given interchangeably in the hospital and taken home with us) to Costco powder and sometimes Enfamil to go packets. I say just know your LO, watch for signs that they aren't doing well with the switches and be cautious, but you should be fine. All babies are different!
We went from liquid to powder (same brand) and then switched brands, both with no problem. We followed our pedi's advice and mixed the old brand and the new brand half and half for a few days before switching completely to the new.
I actually use both the similac powder and the liquid. I never thought anything of it because we stay with the same brand/type. LO has never had an issue.
After 1.5 years TTC, IUI #2= BFP 12/2/12

DD was on the ready to feed nursettes of Enfamil when she was in the hospital and we kept her on those until she was a month I think. Then we switched to powdered Enfamil, but she was having a lot of gas problems so we switched her to Enfamil Gentlease. I just bought some Target brand of the gentle formula and she'll start that when we run out of Enfamil.
