Re: good stain remover

  • Dreft stain remover actually works pretty well, but for really, really ugly stuff, I use Lestoil. Warning, it smells like oil. But it gets every single stain out, even those I have dried in the dryer. When I use this on DS's clothing, I put the whole load in for a second wash to get the oil smell and any residue of Lestoil out of the clothing. I've never had a problem with our clothing, and don't wash our stuff a second time, but I'm a little more cautious with DS.

  • I posted about this about 4 months ago. So many moms said sunlight, as in the light from the sun in the sky. No joke.....it works. Rinse off the clothing and scrub out what you can. Then place it stain side up in the sun. It will disappear. Then just was as normal. It's crazy, but it absolutely works.

  • I have to do a whole load of poop clothes and food stained alot. I spray oxy clean on the stains and run a cold water rinse in the washer, then add all free and clear and run a sanitary load.

  • I use Honest Company's stain remover and love it. When we are visiting family, I use dishwashing soap and scrub the spot by hand, and then just wash like normal in the washing machine. I heard that dishwashing soap helps to break down the oils in stains.
  • babyganics stain remover spray.   its amazing!!!!

This is what I was going to suggest!
    Yep, works every time!

MIL told me to put lemon juice on an old stained shirt of DH's that she gave me and to put it out in the sun.  I've never tried the lemon juice part, but so far anything with poop stains I've just put out in the sun while damp, and it disappears!

I fill a small tub with hot water and some oxyclean powder and let the clothes soak overnight.  If I do it before it's dried, it gets the stain out 100% every time.
This is what I do too.  If I forget to soak the clothes right away, I just put the OxiClean powder in with the regular detergent (we use All Free & Clear) whenever I am doing laundry.  Most of the time, the stains come out.  If not, I just put the clothes it in the sun to dry and that always takes care of any lingering stains.

  • We use All free and clear with oxi. On the tough stains I use resolve max spray- it does wonders. Even with stains that are set in by the dryer on low heat. Discovered it a couple of months ago. I won't switch to anything else!
  • Zote, it is a big pink bar soap... It does wonders. I pretreat all stained clothes with it and everything comes out.
