We did an infant care class and breastfeeding class in the last week. The infant class was super helpful for DH who has never spent time with little babies before. Also loved the BF class, I feel more prepared for it now!
We are actually finishing the last portion of our birthing classes this Tuesday. Crazy! Then we will be taking a breast feeding class towards the end of Oct. and we don't need to take any CPR or First Aid classes, we are both already certified which is nice not having to worry about it. I hadn't really thought much about infant care classes.....hmmm I might have to run that by DH. I have tons of experience with young kids and infants (I worked in a daycare with toddlers and infants and I am the oldest grandchild with lots of younger cousins), but DH has no clue about babies, he only just changed his first diaper ever last month when we babysat our nephew. I wonder if he would want to take a class to feel more comfortable?
We took a baby care class, and last night was our last childbirth class. We're taking a breastfeeding class next week. I'm definitely glad we signed up for them.
We are in the middle of a 6 week series of classes that is a combination of childbirth, newborn care, hospital tour, CPR etc. We also signed up for an additional breastfeeding class. So far they're totally worth it and our insurance reimbursed us for the cost.
