Double Stroller ideas for 2 year old and infant...

Help! I used the snap and go daiy for my DD when she was little, but now looking into the future and having 2 little ones I need a stroller that can accomodate my infant and my toddler. Any ideas? I like the idea of still strapping in the car seat (graco snug ride 35) if I can. TIA!

Re: Double Stroller ideas for 2 year old and infant...

  • We are thinking of a sit & stand ( like the joovy ultralight) with the infant seat attachment. DS will be 2 1/2 when baby is born, and I really don't want a monstrous double stroller

  • Still deciding. I think I want a side by side. I was kinda set on the City Mini Double, but now I'm thinking Bugaboo Donkey, but it's so damn heavy. I considered the city select and the b-ready but the more I think about it the more I think I wanna go side by side.

Do it - the donkey is amazing. You have the option to take the seats off when folding the frame so it's not so heavy. If you are in the city and going up and down flights of stairs and onto public transportation, may not be right for you, but for suburbia, it's perfect. I need to start a thread of my love affair with this stroller.

  • Phil & Ted has a great front and back one. I babysat for two kids that used it. I really liked it over a double wide one, because it can be really hard to navigate when there are other people on the sidewalk or in busy shops.
  • I've been contemplating the joovy caboose ultralight, but would have to get a back seat converter because when the front seat is all the way down, it is really uncomfortable for the kid sitting in the back.

  • Thanks all!

  • I was originally leaning toward the City Mini double but am now going with the sit n stand. Not 100% sure which model yet though. DD is 28 months now and never wants to ride in the stroller as it is. So I have a tough time spending the $400-$500 for something that I doubt I'll use much. I think she might feel like the standing board is kinda cool and it will at least be enough for quick trips to the mall or something like that where she may get tired of walking.

We are thinking City Select or Uppababy Vista (there's an option for 3 kids if needed in the future).

ETA: just read tht you wanted side by side, sorry no help here! I live in the city, so side by side is a pain.

  • I will confess when my first two were born just over 12 months apart we did not have a double stroller, I was walking my two, and my sisters little girl who was 16 months older then my one year old all over town on a single stroller,
although back then it was due to lack of funds LOL.

I have heard wonderful things about the sit and stand, I really do not like the side by sides as I think they take up to much room on the sidewalk ect when walking around town.
but I think it really depends on how and where you plan on using it, how much you will use it, and what type of other traffic you will use it in, some places have a ton of bikes on the side walk which could pose an issue with a side by side. but if you will be using it off road/sidewalk like in grass the side by side would be easier to push.

  • I am researching double strollers currently. I want to be able to jog with mine...we had Baby Trend the first time (I know..not these awesome big name ones, but it worked awesome for us!) - and I may look into that again, so we can snap the infant seat on one side, and the toddler into the other side. It is a double-wide BUT I am not sure if they make joggers front/back style? I am sure it's out there.. My MIL found a (and I can't remember the name) where you can stroll, jog OR attach to the back of a bike. It's real big and boxy.. but who knows.
