Yes! My DD was born on Sept 12th and we had a BIG party for her that weekend with family and friends. We rented out the club house of our condo complex for our 80 guests. Lots of food, fun, games and good times! There wasn't a specific theme. I just went to Party City and got decorations and supplies for a girl's 1 year party. Cute and simple and pink! She was so tiny at 3 lbs 9 oz, that we had her in preemie clothes in the beginning. We also decorated the place with a clothes line and pinned her preemie clothes to it. They were soooo tiny! It was really showed how much she grew in a year.
We had a quiz about Madeline's first year for everyone. I prepared kiddie bags for the kids coming to the party. We also laid out a blanket for DD to crawl towards different objects to signify what job she'll choose. We had a stethoscope, gavel, microphone, volleyball, calculator, ipod, rolling pin etc. It was in good fun, and everyone loved it! She actually crawled to the volleyball first. Dh and I are big sports ppl, so it was really fun. She crawled to the stethoscope next. At the party, we also revealed the gender of baby #2 to everyone. It was a great time for all!
Wow, that's awesome! Are you or DH Korean? What did you do for kiddie bags? That has me a bit stumped for DD's party. I love the idea of the clothesline with the tiny onsies
Thanks! I'm chinese and DH is White. Our DD is a good mix of both of us. We had a huge party of 80 guests, so there were many kids that came. I prepared 15 goodie bags for kids under 10 yrs old. I just went to Party City and got stuff in bulk like gender neutral bubbles, yo-yos, pencils, snacks, spinning tops, stickers, frisbees, etc. They enjoyed it!
