DD was born with a posterior tongue tie and lip tie. Please please ladies, nursing or not, learn what it looks and feels like when you're baby is tongue tied! It'll save you so much pain and frustration if you get it corrected, the sooner the better! Anyway, her tongue tie was snipped when she was 6 months old (that's how long it took for us to figure out what was wrong and get it fixed since no one knew what to look for!) but she still has her lip tie. It's causing a pretty decent gap between her front teeth and can lead to nasty dental problems, mostly tooth decay later if we don't fix it. So tomorrow morning we're driving down to Portland, OR to see a specialist who will fix it via laser surgery. He's one of two doctors on the west coast who do it with lasers, it's much less painful, heals faster and it more effective so well worth the drive! We'll stay with DH's aunt and uncle who are super sweet, so that will make the trip even more worth it.
Keep DD in your thoughts and prayers, we're hoping for a very quick, non-traumatic procedure and super fast healing!
