Jury Duty and breastfeeding

Got my questionairre, guessing I might get called soon for jury duty. Just in case- anyone ever got called for jury duty downtown when nursing/pumping? How did that go over? Any rights for nursing moms I need to know? I'm worried I won't be properly accomodated so I want to be prepared with whatever info I may need. TIA.

    There should be a write in thing on your notice. Just put that you are BF and they will defer you. They deferred me for 8 months.

    I was called in March while BF and was not excused. I sat on a jury for 3.5 weeks for Oakland County Circuit Court. On Day 1, there were accommodations made for pumping while in the jury selection pool. After I was seated on the jury, no one seemed to know how to handle the situation. I was not allowed to go back to the pump room for the jury pool, but there was also no where else available. I was offered a bathroom (refused) then they came up with a copy room (no lock on the door) and a clerk standing guard so no one walked in on me. Not ideal, but glad I stuck with it.

    Oakland County is who deferred me in May. They probably saw my BF comment on my form and said, no way, not again.

    I received a deferment from Oakland County by including a letter from the doctor that I am breastfeeding.

    Thanks everyone! I got my summons, called, and they said they have a pump room & fridge...no deferment. Luckily the day I went, didn't get picked. They had a private bathroom with a couch and table. Wayne County is on top of things I guess :)
