I would like my baby to take a bottle sometimes but haven't found one that works. He gags on Avent. Tommee Tippee was better but seemed like the flow was too fast. What bottles does your breastfed baby like?
Dr browns w a slow flow nipple. Though I have forceful letdown so I prob could go up but they already inhale their bottles in 10min so the longer the better
Right now we use playtex nursers which work pretty well. I just ordered a new bottle called BARE because it's supposed to closely mimic the breast. Here's a link if you'd like to check it out
Ds will take whatever bottle we give him so far but now he is starting to refuse the breast once the flow slows down. I've noticed the "slow flow" nipples are all very different. We tried the nipple that came with the medela pump and that was the fastest, followed by the Tommee tippee slow flow, and then the avent natural slow flow (slowest of the ones we tried). Friends of mine have had the same problem And they recommended playtex drop-ins with a natural latch nipple? I haven't tried it yet but will be going to target today to find it!
It's only been a few times but so far my LO has taken the life factory glass bottle with the slowest flow nip but not the medela one. I haven't tried any others yet. I also have a forceful letdown/ flow so she may be used to it.
We are using Playtex newborn nursers and Playtex vent air....he likes both. I like them because they come with slow flow nipples and can be used for both bottles.
We tried Avent, Tommee Tippee, and Dr. Brown's. Dr Brown's are the only ones we use now. DD inhales her food (just like daddy) and would cough and choke a lot with the other bottles.
Tommee Tippee here too and also Medela with the Calma nipple. We have some Dr. Browns but haven't used them yet since the other 2 are working just fine so far.
Medela. We used the regular ones with DS1. With DS2 I have been using the new Medela bottles that are supposed to simulate breastfeeding more. These would help you if you are concerned about fast flow.
Re: Bottle for breastfed baby
DS does well with it and it helps reduce a LOT of air intake, plus it is VERY comfortable to hold while feeding him.
