Baby boy baptism outfit?

Hi Ladies,

A's baptism is fast approaching and while I have a family heirloom "gown" that he will be wearing, I don't have anything for him to wear under it.  The gown is more of an overlay type thing that is see-through, so I need something nice for underneath but I am not loving what I am seeing.  DH and I are typing to avoid a little white tuxedo suit thing (just a personal preference) but I am not seeing much else.  Suggestions?  What did your little man wear for the big day?  If you have a link to where you bought it- that would be spectacular!

Re: Baby boy baptism outfit?

  • My friends put their little boy into khakis, a checkered button down and a cute little vest.

    He was so cute!

  • I did not want a gown for Ben for his baptism, or the white tux. We found a nice, simple cotton knit outfit that I loved. Here is the link:

Their website wouldn't let me copy the image to PIP... :P
He had an A-frame onesie underneath the outfit, and then after the ceremony, for the luncheon, I changed him into a white onesie that I got from our local Bible bookstore that said "Child of God" on it.

This is really cute, and I like the idea of changing him into something after like you did.

I'm not sure if this is for a Catholic baptism, but for Harper's baptism they lifted the gown up during the ceremony to bless her chest with the holy oil, so if they will be doing that I would suggest another gown for him to wear underneath. We also used a family heirloom so I'm not sure where you could find something. Hope this helps a little.

It is for a Catholic ceremony. I don't remember the oil on the chest part from what I have read, but good to know.
