eye color

Has lo eye color changed yet? My husband has brown I have green and lo has bright deep blue. We are almost 5 months and haven't seen any changes yet but the Dr is guessing he will have brown. When did your eyes change?

Re: eye color

  • My Lo has bright blue eyes. Both my dh and I have blue eyes and so his will prob. Stay blue according to what I learned about genetics in school. I love them, blue eyes are awesome. :)

  • I have green, hubs has hazel, baby has blue. My cousins baby is one month and already turned brown.
  • Still blue, but DH has blue and I have hazel but my mom has blue eyes. So they might stick. They seem to have changed shade a bit a little more grey than they were before.

So after posting this I looked back into some of my info from college about eye color...what I found is that it often can take around a year for eyes to turn brown fully and may be different colors inbetween.

If you look at the eyes from the side in natural light and you see blue you are highly likely to have blue eyes.

If you see flakes of other color then you will likely turn green or brown.

I see a greenish brown on some days from some angles so I think it's safe for me to assume that we won't stay blue...so now I'm hoping for some hazel mix. :-D
  • LO's eyes range from light steel gray to a deep shade of blue, and sometimes have green and gold flakes. Whatever color they eventually turn to, for now, I have never seen eyes like his. No one in our close circle has. We're all betting colors hah!

  • LO has blue eyes still. Very bright. My eyes have a ring of blue and a ring of green and are flecked with a very light brown. H has hazel eyes. Everyone is guessing if his eyes will stay blue!

  • LO's eye are still a bright blue, but I can see flecks of green in the centre now in some light. I have green eyes, and my husband has brown. I don't think they will stay blue. My husband is in denial about it. Lol. His eyes really are extraordinary right now. I admit I'm a little sad that they will likely darken and change.

I have brown, DH has hazel. I'm pretty sure I've noticed Jake's eyes turning grayish recently. They'll probably end up closer to hubby's eye color than mine

  • DS's eye color just recently started to change.  I have hazel and SO had brown.  For a long time DS's eye color was a blue/gray and now they are sort of hazel.

  • Any changes yet ladies? We are still bright blue with a lightish ring around the center.
  • Still blue, I think they even managed to get even bluer! Bluer? More blue? Neither sounds right lol
  • I have brown, DH has green. Baby is still super blue. So blue it's hard to imagine them changing, but we'll see!
  • Still blue at 6 months!
  • Jake's eyes are starting to lighten to a grayish-blue color. It looks to me like they'll be close to DH's eye color, which is hazel.
