Hospital Bag Packing List - what all do we need?

My wife and I are due December 3 and we are getting our hospital bag together.  We found this list https://avelist.com/list10063 , but I wanted to know what you all would suggest...we are first time parents and definitely don't want to get there and realize we forgot something obvious!  Also, as it will likely be pretty cold by then, are there any weather-specific things we shouldn't forget?

Thanks for your help!

estreyas - Great call to check with the hospital to see what they provide!

mommystephy - thanks for the list!  Wonderful idea especially with the premie clothes...that would be awful to assume based on measurements that our baby would be a normal weight only to realize he is smaller than we thought and we don't have clothes for him.

    Honestly, you don't need much.

    1. Toothbrush
    2. toothpaste
    3. soap
    4. travel size shampoo and conditioner
    5. granny panties...you'll be gross down there and won't want anything else (use they throw away undies they give you at the hospital too
    6. make-up just in case you want to take pictures
    7. blowdryer
    8. hairbrush
    9. something comfy to lay around in that is relatively cute if you expect visitors, but make sure it's easy to go to the bathroom and easy to breastfeed in
    10. one outfit for the baby to leave the hospital in
    11. coins for DH to use in the vending machines, you could be in labor a long time
    12. a pillow with a pillow case that you don't care if it gets yucky
    13. comfy outfit for you to come home from the hospital in
    14. medications you take regularly - be sure to check with Dr. or nurse that they are okay

Keep in mind if you forget something, your DH or another relative can always run home and grab it.  Typically there isn't anything you need right that second.

This is what I remember from delivering my first.  You're most likely going to be in bed 99% of the time you are at the hospital so just be comfy.

Thank you all for your feedback!  Good call to keep it simple and BrittAnnie19 thanks for the reminder about getting a camera...we were actually just talking last night about going to get one soon!

beckyj2013 - my apologies, we constantly use that site to organize/find info.  That said, I'll try to tone back on the links!

I also recommend packing Tucks medicated pads. Yes, the hemorrhoid pads...
The pads are in Witch Hazel. Witch Hazel is great for healing with any tear you might have. I healed rather quickly by starting using tucks on my pads - every time I went to the bathroom.

Also, when you get home - squirt straight witch hazel on to some pads, wrap them back up, put in a ziplock bag into the freezer. You will have healing ice packs. HUGE difference!

Prob a bit TMI but seriously, I swear by this. And so do my friends who have gotten the gift of Tucks and Witch Hazel from me for their shower gifts (in addition to other things)

For you the hubby, a full range of clothing for labor. It depends on how your wife feels, some women get super hot and turn the a/c up full blast and you will be cold (especially in December). I on the other hand was freezing during transition and turned up the heat so DH was glad he had shorts and a tee-shirt.
