Moving/relocation question

Those that have moved with LO, how did you handle it? How was the packing/unpacking process? Did you leave them with someone on moving day so you could work without worrying about them? Did your LO freak out being in a new place?
We are moving out of Hall County (Georgia) in January. My husband landed a job downtown and I work in Duluth.
Anyone who is from the area: What area would be a good place to start looking for a rental house?

Re: Moving/relocation question

  • We moved right before LO's first birthday. DH was deployed so I left LO with my mom for a few days so I could deal with the movers, turn on utilities, and unpack as much as possible. It was an insane week but Olivia did great and adjusted quickly.

  • It seems like gradual packing (instead of my usual dump and run method) is probably the best bet.
I guess if all his stuff is where it was in the other house that will help the adjustment too.
He's just like his daddy: very routine and hates changes.

I wonder if letting him check out the new place when it's empty will help. Might make it more familiar.

    Thanks everyone!!
