I'm hosting a shower for a close friend and she has sweetly requested a "vintage fishing" theme since his nursery will be decorated this way. She and her hubby go fishing all the time together. This friend has done so much for me and my family, so I'm willing to make it extra special. Any good party planners here? Ideas? Pinterest has a few ideas, but there's probably more out there somewhere. Thanks!

Uhmmm well that is kinda hard.

Does it have to be vintage ? Maybe just a " gone fishing " theme ? Maybe get one sign that says " Gone fishing " or find some Saturday Evening post covers by Norman Rockwell of boys going fishing ?

Maybe have old buckets or pails as centerpieces ?

Party city has tons and tons of personalizable banners invites etc! You could go there or try online as well. Also I say use some wooden fishing poles and maybe fishing net for decor.

I think using vintage fabric/colors (darker primary/faded) will give you the best effect

I bet you could find old rusty reels on eBay or Craigslist pretty easy. I would think the colors of navy, green, burlap, white would be a good color scheme.

I saw someone that had an old ore with the letters of the baby's name hanging from it above the crib. If she knows the name you would add that into the decor and she could reuse it in the nursery. What about a shabby chic painted anchor?
