Shopping instead of contracting.

DH looked at me like I had 3 heads yesterday after I said I wanted a new trash can for the kitchen and sent him to bed bath and beyond to get it.  I mean I guessss a $180 price tag is excessive for a trashcan but its made by simple human and has a built in recycler.  Oh and PSA if you have an old simple human trashcan they have a 5/10 year warrenty so we traded in our plastic one and had the 20% off so it was only $100.  Since I just justified that in writing to myself I will now go and online shop for an ottoman.... we will call this nesting.

  • Wow, that is an expensive trash can... I think mine cost less than $20. I can understand shopping as a form of nesting though. We have had more packages delivered in the past few weeks than ever! lol

  • that sounds like my nesting, I just spend money..  lol

  • My kind of nesting!!
  • Nesting at its finest lol.  My recent nesting purchase was a new medicine cabinet for our master bathroom.  I decided I HATED the old one the other day and couldn't look at it anymore.

  • Wait- the trash can has a warranty? My mom bought one a few years ago to keep the dog out of the trash. The lid is cracked and we have it duct taped so it closes properly. I know we don't still have the receipt, though... Hmm...
  • We also recently got the simple human trash can with built in recycler and I love it! Also we just bought a leather ottoman for our living room haha. Sounds like we have similar nesting styles. I'm shopping for rugs now!
  • I like your version of nesting.

@brittanycupcakes no receipt or box needed, I didn't even clean it.  I threw it in a bag and DH just brought it to the counter and they gave him the credit toward a new one. The plastic one had a 5 year warranty and we had it for 4 years this one is stainless so it has a 10 yr warranty, so in 9 years I sense a trade up ;)
