No more free formula for Baby #2?

Was just wondering if any other Moms out there did get free formula, samples, etc. when they registered for LO#2. When we first registered for our DS over 2 years ago, we got all kinds of free formula in the mail and coupons from Enfamil and Similac. I registered again (mainly just to keep track of the things we need for LO#2) with BRU and Amazon.com and also directly with Enfamil.com and Similac.com this time around, but with 6 weeks to go I am sad to see that nothing has come in the mail! Those samples and freebies sure were nice!

Do you think the formula companies have a blacklist and you only get the free stuff once? Or maybe they wait until after the due date and then mail it? We actually have even moved in between so I would have a different address.

I didn't register anywhere, but ended up with way more free samples this time than I did the first time. I have no idea how they got my info other than through Motherhood Maternity... ETA: the samples arrived around 34 weeks for me.

Oh thank you! I had forgotten about them. Just went to their site and signed up again, so maybe that will trigger it....I also registered at Target too just to get in their system, even though I had an awful experience with their registry the first time around and would never recommend it!

I'm a FTM, all I've gotten so far is a free diaper and small pack of wipes. But I'm only at 32 weeks. Maybe the samples will come later.

I got a box from Similac last week. I have no idea where they got my name since I didn't sign up with them. Maybe you are just not quite far enough along?

This is baby #5 and I've gotten formula in the mail from Similac. I breastfeed but like to have some around just in case. If I don't use it there are ladies at my church who will. I also got 3 different sample packs from my OBs office.

I'm 34 weeks now so based on what some of you have said maybe we will start to get some things in the mail soon. We did also get alot of free cans from our pedi office last time which was great.

I got free samples. I'm not sure how because we didn't even register for this baby. My guess is from the purchase I made at MM.

I've been wondering about this too and just asked my nurses at the doctor and they said around 33-35 weeks you should start getting stuff.

You can go to their websites (Similac and Enfamil) and enroll for free coupons and samples. Online you can find their 800 # you can call, and if you request samples of their formula, they will send you some. I talked to someone at Enfamil, and she sent me samples of the powder newborn formula, the formula for 3-12 mos, and 12 ready to use bottles of the newborn formula with a few nipples.

I registered at Target and Amazon and am 39 weeks. I've gotten no formula samples, which is fine by me. I think I did get a card I could send in to get some, but I'm planning to EBF so I didn't.

I just got the similac package today, it has 4 ready to feed supplemental formula bottles, a container of the powdered similac and a container of the powder sensitive similac. also 20.00 worth of coupons! I haven't received anything from Enfamil yet, I got a bunch from them too when DD was born in 2010.

If you do get samples and don't want them, you might consider donating them to your local food bank. I EBF and donated all the samples I got in the mail. The ladies at the food bank nearly cried.

You can sign up directly on their websites. I just started getting stuff around 30 weeks. So far two free full cans of Gerber formula with some discount check, a coupon for free stuff from Enfamil, and then today more Gerber coupons for formula. A lot will send it after your due date.

I'm planning on BF, but I did register again at Enfamil just in case. I'd rather have formula on hand if I end up needing it again. There is a separate box in their profile section now where you have to click if you want samples. I think they don't just automatically send them anymore.

I haven't got anything yet, and with DD I started getting samples and coupons really early. I breastfed so I gave everything away. Until the post I forgot about the samples!

I am due today and I received my tubs of formula (I signed up for them as a "just in case"). They came two weeks ago for me and my enfamile came in Monday.

I signed up on the Enfamil and Similac websites early on because I like to have the formula on hand just in case. My samples for both arrived around 35 weeks. I received samples of both when I had DD in 2009 also.

I'm having my third. I got samples with my first two and I had a MC between them. I got samples for the baby I lost at 7 weeks around when I would have delivered which was horrible. I haven't received anything this time even though I registered with similac, enfamil, and gerber good start. Tried calling gerber today because that is what I will probably use but message said their phones are down.
